Hupu, October 25th According to the latest report from Andy Mitten, a famous Manchester United reporter from TheAthleticUK, Manchester United has communicated with the Premier League to express their concerns about the number of midweek games between now and Christmas.

In the 12 weeks from October 5 to December 25, Manchester United will only play one home game every weekend - Saturday's game against Brighton.

During this period, Manchester United will play three consecutive midweek home games, of which the games against Everton in November and Bournemouth in December have been rescheduled to Monday night. The game against West Ham United in the first week of December has always been scheduled in midweek.

On the road, Manchester United fans will welcome the game against Tottenham Hotspur on November 8 at 12:30 pm, the game against Crystal Palace on Sunday, November 30 at 12 noon, and the game against Wolves on Monday, December 8 at 8 pm.

The Premier League has not confirmed a date for the festive home match against Newcastle United, but it is likely to be on Boxing Day (Friday), with kick-off at 8pm.

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada has spoken to Premier League chairman Richard Masters to set out the club's position. Sources familiar with the matter told The Athletic that they had had constructive conversations and United were keen to emphasize the importance of fans in attendance to the culture of English football.

Manchester United also requested changes to the game schedule to ensure that games during the holiday period can be broadcast in advance so that fans can understand changes in the schedule in time when they may have important family matters.

Manchester United understands the views of fan representatives who believe that the club's schedule is particularly detrimental to fans because it is more difficult and more expensive to attend games on weekdays than on weekends.

Old Trafford received a letter from the Fans Forum setting out these issues and the club issued its own response.

Manchester United and other Premier League clubs have agreed to add Monday and Friday broadcast slots to new broadcast contracts, and they understand the pressure of an extended European schedule with a record number of English clubs participating in the European competition - although Manchester United is not an exception.

According to The Athletic, Monday's series of match schedules also complicates the club's plans for a mid-season friendly in Saudi Arabia - it is not so easy to arrange midweek matches before the New Year.

Clubs still hope to travel to Saudi Arabia or other overseas countries during the season to make up for the revenue lost from the absence of UEFA club competitions this season, but given the reduced schedule, it is difficult to see how this can be achieved between now and the busy Christmas period.
