June 4 According to ESPN, Chelsea intends to sign Milan goalkeeper Meinion, but the two sides have major differences on transfer fees.

Chelsea reportedly learned that 29-year-old Meinian was open to joining the team and that Milan could be sold at a lower price as he had only one year left on his contract. However, according to sources, Milan demanded a transfer fee of up to €30 million, which made Chelsea hesitant. Although the club is willing to introduce new goalkeepers, this is not their top priority, as they currently have five senior goalkeepers on the list.

Last summer, Chelsea signed Villarreal goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen for 24.5 million euros, while they also reached an agreement with Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders, who will join after the end of the season. Penders may be trained out of rent, and Kepa will return from Bournemouth.

With Robert Sanchez's recent series of mistakes, it is obviously attractive to introduce a goalkeeper of the same level as Menion. As the first choice goalkeeper of the French national team, Meinion has participated in the Champions League for four consecutive years since joining Milan from Lille in 2021. However, Chelsea is unwilling to meet Milan's asking price, and the two sides still need further negotiations to reach an agreement.
