In a recent interview with German media sports.de, German legend Basler talked about Dortmund's midfielder Brandt, and believed that the player can only improve his personal ability by leaving Dortmund. He also suggested that he take a step back and go to smaller clubs like Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bremen.

Brent once again showed a significant rebound in form performance during the sprint phase of the season, but Basler believes that after experiencing great ups and downs in form this season, the German midfielder should consider transfers and look for a new competitive challenge.

Bassler: "I think Brandt's topic at Dortmund must end. He needs a different environment, he needs a new club. He has to leave the environment he has been familiar with in the past few years."

Admittedly, Brandt has performed well for Dortmund in the past few weeks, but looking at the entire 24/25 season, his contribution is not enough. Bassler stressed: "It's not enough to just play three good games recently. Just the whole game For seasons, I think this is too few players of Brandt's level."

Therefore, for this summer's transfer window, Basler also suggested Dortmund: "So, together with Emre Jan and Gittens, he is Dortmund's first, second and third candidate for sale."

This is Brandt's sixth season at Dortmund. With a total of 353 appearances in the Bundesliga, he has long been one of the most experienced active players in the league. Basler believes that the 29-year-old player is fully capable of continuing to play in the Bundesliga: "I do think he will be very suitable for clubs like Bremen or Borussia Mönchengladbach."

But it depends on whether money is an important factor for Brandt. Basler: "Of course, he has made a lot of money in Dortmund. If he only cares about money, he should stay in Dortmund. If he still wants to play football, or even maybe want to become the core role of the national team again, he must play better games and leave Dortmund."

However, in an interview with Sky Sports in Germany a few days ago, Brandt just emphasized that he has no plans to transfer. So far this season, Brandt has made 44 appearances in total for 3325 minutes, contributing 6 goals and 14 assists.
