After Uzbekistan defeated Qatar 3-0 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers held on June 10, President Shafkat Mirziyoyev signed an order to give each of the national team players and coaching staff a BYD electric sedan as their reward for their historic advancement to the World Cup.

In addition, the President has decided to award some players and coaches the National Medal of Honor for their breakthrough results in the World Cup qualifiers. This victory not only made the whole country boil, but also made the players cry.

As early as June 6, Uzbekistan locked in the World Cup qualification ahead of schedule after a 0-0 draw with the UAE. As the second in the group, they represented the Asian region directly to the 2026 World Cup finals with Iran. The UAE and Qatar, which are third and fourth in the group, will continue to participate in the play-offs to compete for the remaining World Cup spots.

The Uzbekistan team that advanced to the World Cup this time is not composed of star-studded big-name stars, and also lacks a lineup to play in the top European leagues. However, they still have some European players in Europe, including Erdor Shumurodov (who played for Serie A Roma), young defender Husanov (currently played for Manchester City), and midfielder Rising Star Abosbek Faizulaev (now at CSKA Moscow).

This team from Central Asia impressed everyone with their perseverance and firm belief. Their success proves that even if there is no luxurious lineup, as long as you unite and work hard to the end, you can still realize your dreams.

The 2026 World Cup will be jointly organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico for the first time, and the competition will be from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This event will also be the first time in history that 48 teams have participated in the competition. Teams from the six continents will compete in the same game, opening a new chapter in the World Cup.
