May 16th News Recently, Casemiro revealed in an exclusive interview with ESPN that as Ancelotti becomes the new coach of the Brazilian national team, he may return to the national team soon.

The Manchester United midfielder has a deep connection with Ancelotti. During his time at Real Madrid, Ancelotti was his mentor and the two won several important championships together, including two Champions League titles. Casemiro highly praised Ancelotti's appointment and called him on purpose.

Casemiro said: "I have already communicated with him, and I remember one time he called me before the game against Barcelona to ask about our strategy, he wanted to know what we thought and what he could do."

"I have also been in touch with him and his son (assistant coach David Ancelotti) and I have a very good impression of them. There is no doubt that this is good news for the Brazilian national team, no matter what the outcome is, but the most important thing is his personal charm."

When asked if I believe Ancelotti will call him in the next national team game, Casemiro gave a positive answer. He was not called by Dorivar before, but now he says things may change with Ancelotti’s arrival.

"It's hard to say I'll be back to the national team, but when you talk about great coaches like Ancelotti, you're one step closer to winning. Of course, I'm not saying Brazil will definitely win the 2026 World Cup. Real Madrid has one of the best players and one of the best coaches, but they didn't win. The same goes for Manchester City, and they didn't win this year's Premier League title, either."

"So, when you have such a great coach to coach the Brazilian national team, you naturally want to return. The only regret is that he has only a short time to form a team to prepare for next year's World Cup."

Brazil has only four games left in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers: against Ecuador, Paraguay, Chile and Bolivia. After that, the team will have only a few friendly matches to complete the final preparations.

"I'm very happy to see such a great coach coach in Brazil's national team, but I also feel a little regretful because it's too short. I think that in this case he should have taken over earlier, which is the wish of Ednaldo Rodriguez, the president of the Football Association. After Tit left, he should be the best person."

"But I think that whatever the result, Brazil needs such a professional, a respected great name. I want to say to you journalists and Brazilian fans, enjoy this moment because he's really special."

"He has a very deep understanding of football and can inspire the best performance of the players. I'm glad he's among the top three coaches in my career, tied with Tit and Zidane, so I'm very looking forward to playing for the national team again."
