When will Curry come back? In the latest report, analyze the possibility of recovery from hamstring strain

3:50am, 14 May 2025【Basketball】

In the first playoff game between the Warriors and the Timberwolves, Stephen Curry left the game in the second quarter, which shocked Golden State Warriors fans. However, the news got worse as the Warriors superstar is expected to miss at least the next three games.

On Thursday, the Warriors provided Curry's latest status on X.

"Golden State Warriors defender Stephen Curry exited the game with 8 minutes and 19 seconds left in the second quarter due to a left hamstring strain on the Minnesota Timberwolves. He underwent an MRI this morning. The MRI confirmed his injury was a first-degree hamstring strain." The Warriors PR wrote on Twitter. Anthony Slater of the

Athletics team forwarded the news, revealing that Curry will miss the second (Thursday), the third (Saturday) and the fourth (Monday).

Warriors won 99-88. Curry left the field after only 13 minutes; however, he still scored 13 points. The excellent performances of Buddy Hield and Jimmy Butler helped the Warriors win.

Hilde scored a game-high 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Butler is effective on both sides of the offense and defense. He scored 20 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals in the game. The second game of the series between the two sides will be played at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Timberwolves home goal center arena.

What will happen to the Golden State Warriors without Curry?

Curry's life on any team will make his teammates easier. The 11-time All-Star's off-ball run and shooting attracted a lot of attention from the defense and relieved the pressure on the rest of the team.

However, with their superstars missing, the Golden State Warriors will have to rethink their tactics. Curry is expected to return until Game 4 (Monday), but it is no surprise that he returns earlier than expected given the tenacity of the four-time NBA champion.

The Warriors should focus on creating a tactic with Jimmy Butler at the core to get Buddy Hilder to perform well on the outside. They have performed well in the past few games, and the former Miami Heat star has extensive experience and can serve as a mainstay before Curry returns.

Hilder, on the other hand, can make tough shots, and he has proven himself many times this season. The Warriors have enough assets to avoid giving the Timberwolves a big lead in Game 2. Steve Cole needs to use the resources at hand to get Jonathan Cumingga to join his group.
