After Thunder star Shay Gilgers-Alexander won the MVP trophy, he was extremely grateful for his youth. When Shea Gilgers-Alexander was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, few people expected him to grow into who he is today. Even the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team that sought him as a primary reward in the Paul George trade, could not foresee Gilgers Alexander's end up being the MVP winner. He officially won the MVP trophy Thursday before the Thunders' second Western Conference Finals win over the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-103.

Gilgers Alexander was already an excellent rotation player in his rookie season. Then, in the second year, he gradually grew into a resident starter for the Thunder and received careful guidance from future Hall of Fame member Chris Paul. By the third year he was already the Thunder’s best player and since then he has been improving – a testament to his legendary professionalism that has made him progress year by year.

The Thunder star is currently at its peak. Gilgers Alexander expressed his sincere gratitude to himself when he was young, thanking him for perseverance and leading him to this day.

"I'm very proud. I'm glad he never gave up. I'm glad he followed the advice of the right people. I'm also grateful to those who gave me advice over the years. They know who they are, and I'm very grateful," Gilgers Alexander said in his post-game press conference via the official NBA account of Channel X.

Gilgers Alexander is now about to lead the Thunder to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012, with just two more games to win. His dominance in Game 2 made the Timberwolves incredibly frustrated and scored 38 points in the win, proving why he deservedly won the MVP.

Shay Gilgers-Alexander is a major victory in the development process of the Thunder

Shay Gilgers-Alexander is a realistic reflection of the player development model in the NBA 2K series games. Gilgers Alexander has improved every season, and the Thunder continues to be the maker of MVPs: It’s incredible and no accident that it has had three different MVPs over the past 11 years.

However, Gilgers Alexander hopes to lead the Thunder to a level that neither Kevin Durant nor Russell Westbrook could reach. After being pushed to the limit by the Denver Nuggets, the Thunder maintained dominance at their dominance throughout the season and they may be moving towards that goal.
