Team Note: The Bucks can trade Portis & the latter is also interested, just like the Warriors send Clay away

May 15th, today, reporter Jim Owazarski of the Milwaukee Sentinel posted a message about Portis' stay or whereabouts.

"Petis could probably play the role of Warriors Thompson, making the Bucks better without him, Portis has a $13.4 million player option, but league sources revealed to us that he plans to try the free agent market." Jim Owazarski wrote

"Petis is 30 years old and valuable in the league - so he has the opportunity to reach a sign-on and exchange agreement with him and bring in different players to revive the Bucks. The Golden State Warriors signed Thompson and traded it to Dallas, which allowed them to sign a sign-on and exchange contract with Hilder and Kyle Anderson," Jim Owazarski added.

In 2021, Portis played a key role in the Bucks' NBA championship. Portis signed a four-year, $48.58 million contract with the team in 2022, with the last year left, with a salary of $13.09 million this season.
