Recently, when a former NBA legend O'Neal participated in a podcast program, he mentioned how he was traded by the Heat.

O'Neal said: "One day during training, Pat Riley asked me to leave the training ground, and I said harshly to him, 'Then let me go.' As a result, I was traded the next day." In the mid-2007-08 season, the Heat sent O'Neal away from the Suns trade for Marion and others.

In the four seasons he played with the Heat, O'Neal played in 205 games, and averaged 19.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 blocks per game, with a shooting percentage of 59.6%. He was selected for the All-Star team twice, and helped the Heat defeat the Mavericks 4-2 in the 2005-06 season, winning the first championship in the team history. After being traded to the Suns, although O'Neal averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in the 2008-09 season and was selected into the All-Series third team and the All-Star lineup, the Suns were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
