Motel then thought that players who are not superstars had to find something better than others to succeed in the NBA, saying: "You have to figure out what kind of player you want to be. It's the crazy part. If you have one thing that does better than others, you will have a long and brilliant career in the NBA. You just need to aim at that one thing."

Motel was able to play both power forwards and centers at the time, and he could shoot, but that didn't last long. In the end, the former Europa League star played only six NBA seasons.

The 34-year-old Motel has one season left on Monaco's contract, but he is not in the plans for Spanoris' new season, and the player is actively seeking to show his effectiveness elsewhere.
