Kumingga doesn t want to return to the Warriors

According to US sports media F/W reporter Chaitanya Dadwar. Jonathan Cumingga's situation almost put the Warriors on hold this offseason. The 22-year-old star reportedly made a request beyond what the Warriors were willing to pay him. This seems to have put their every move in the free agent market on hold. Now, according to NBA insider Brett Seger, the Warriors player would rather not return to the Warriors and would like to go somewhere else if his requests are not met. He also claimed this earlier in the season, but now, after many discussions and negotiations with the team, it seems like Kumingga has played his last game in the Warriors jersey.

" Kumingga's camp wanted a big deal in the $30M+ range and didn't want to go back to the Warriors. Golden State Warriors wanted a small deal in the $20M range and they could flip him because there was no market. Management still insisted that S&T with the Bulls could happen. Ayo Dosunmu is a good player."

This decision has left fans unhappy as they feel conflicted about whether Kumingga deserves the $30 million he asked for. Some think he is a starter and deserves the contract, while others think he can’t make such a request.

"Is there any team that really offers him a price close to $30M? It seems to be ridiculously priced."

"Hate to say it out..but he is worth $30 million and a starting position"

"I messed up with Kumingga, but he/his agency could not believe his value was a season 30+ without any honors, iconic victory or production throughout the season to prove it. A player with his resume/skills scored 30 points in the previous edition in the ANBA. Not the current one.

"No one paid him such a sizzling amount. He was lucky to get $20 million. Most likely 2 years/$40 million, with player options in year 2.

"I don't shoot 3 points, I don't defend, I average 12 points per game, what am I missing?"

"He needs a new agent; he's good, but not 30M good.

"I hope he gets his money. ”

Jonathan Coominga averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the 2024-25 regular season, shooting 45.4% from the field and 30.5% from the three-point line. In my opinion, it is unrealistic to Kuominga stick to a $30 million annual offer. Seeing his role in front of Jimmy Butler dry up, he couldn’t be the third highest-paid player on the team, even more than four NBA Champion Draymond Green, who has a few years left in his career to defend at a high level.

Quo Mingga has agreed to be a restricted free agent when signing a rookie contract. If he is now a free agent, he might realize that even then he wouldn't be eligible to ask for more than $25 million in the market. The $20 million figure is a more tradeable figure for the Warriors, but in fact, it's hard to see a team that meets his requirements at the moment.
