ESPN publicly evaluates Whitmore 1 for 2 transactions
5:20pm, 8 July 2025【Basketball】
On July 6, the famous American sports media ESPN publicly rated the NBA Rockets and Wizards today about the 1-for-2 deal that happened between young forward Whitmore: the Rockets only got C+; while the Wizards got high scores from A-.

According to NBA Rockets reporters, the Rockets management's comprehensive evaluation of Whitmore is very pertinent. Although he has the possibility of becoming an excellent NBA player in the future, it is not very ideal. They would rather give him up in exchange for the next two second round picks, which is actually equivalent to giving Whitmore to the Wizards for free. The Rockets management is very confident in their ability to evaluate players. They have given up Christopher, Garuba, Tate Washington, Kenyon Martin Jr. and others, but in the end they have not really played out their excellent strength to prove themselves.

But ESPN believes that Whitmore is more like a piece of jade, he still needs to be properly trained and grown up, and his basketball talent is far greater than the several rookie players the Rockets have sent away before. They believe that the Rockets will eventually regret it if they send Whitmore away. The management of the Wizards is consistent with ESPN's views. They admire Whitmore's basketball talent very much. They wanted to get him at the first time in the draft that year, but they did not expect that because of Coolibali's choice, the entire draft order was disrupted and eventually missed Whitmore. The Wizards feel that Whitmore is lost and lost in this trade, and I believe he will play his own aggressiveness and dominance moment in the Wizards.
