The Lakers will sign defender D Anthony Melton in free agency

Melton signed a $12.8 million a year contract with the Golden State Warriors last offseason, but unfortunately suffered a partial ACL torn at the beginning of the season and was reimbursed for the season. Then in December last year, the Warriors made a deal to send Melton to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for guard Dennis Schroeder.
"No new news has been heard yet, and we still expect him to sign with the Lakers in the end," said reporter Jake Fischer.
Melton played only 6 games for the Warriors in the 2023-24 season, averaging 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, and his three-point shooting percentage reached 37.1%.
