Ziwo: There are several transfer goals but some teams are not for sale. I hope to inherit the spirit of the treble champion Inter Milan

10:06am, 25 August 2025【Football】

August 24th, 2:45 on August 26th, Inter Milan vs. Turin in the first round of Serie A. Before the game, Inter Milan coach Ziwo attended the press conference.

How satisfied are you with pre-season preparations?

Ziwo: "We have completed excellent work. Although the preparation time is short, the intensity is very high. The players devote themselves and train hard. We are like a construction site that continues to build, always pursuing progress at the individual and team levels."

How to evaluate the transfer market operations?

Zivo: "The transfer operation has always been targeted. We have locked in several goals, but some clubs chose not to sell, just as we will do so. We follow the club's policy and choose to introduce players with both young potential and immediate combat capabilities. These new players already have the strength to play for Inter Milan."

Is Inter Milan the biggest favorite to win the championship?

Zivo: "I agree with Allegri's view that 'the defending champion in the league is naturally popular'. This conclusion can also be drawn from the scale of investment in the transfer market."

What qualities do you hope to inherit from the triple crown Inter Milan?

Ziwo: "I hope to inherit some of the character and spirit of that team back then, so that players can understand how to deal with different stages of the season, whether it is good or bad. Taking the 2010 season as an example, we were on the verge of being eliminated in Kiev. We must learn to control the rhythm of the season, persevere until the end and always maintain a clear self-awareness."

How do you think that the transfer window is still open during the league?

Zivo: "The coach's opinion is insignificant, it is the rule of UEFA and FIFA. Although everyone wants the situation to be clear and the lineup is stable, the psychological fluctuations caused by the players must be properly handled. We cannot change the rules. The ideal state is of course to clarify the lineup plan at the beginning of the season, but this is also part of the football ecology."

What is the trickiest thing in the beginning of the new season?

Ziwo: "We have excellent preparations. When you have a clear conscience from all dimensions, you don't need to be afraid of any challenges. Always go all out to achieve your goals, and your mentality is crucial. When you have a clear goal and have a clear understanding of it, the opening game will always be the most important battle at the moment."

How do you feel about this coaching debut?

Zivo: "I am proud to be the head coach of Inter Milan. I keep a calm mind and know that when you invest your time to grow, everything will come naturally. I can't wait for the league to start. All coaches are more eager to play than to train. We are full of expectations for the new season, stay calm and motivated. The performance on the field will prove our level of preparation."

Are there any new players expected?

Zivo: "We maintain a consistent team building policy with the club and are satisfied with the existing lineup. We are improving the lineup value system by introducing young players. Cultivating young people requires patience, but it is easier to give young players opportunities in the current environment. The club is also making every effort to provide them with a growth platform."

What strategies are expected to adopt in Turin?

Zivo: "They changed the head coach but the system framework has not changed. There is always an unknown new coach, but I respect coach Baroni very much. I expect Torino to stick to his own way of playing. Judging from their paper strength, they are stress-free. This is a team with a sound structure and good condition."

Do you think you are the head coach of the Italian football school?

Zivo: "I came to Italy in 2003 and matured here, but I never forgot the tactical concepts of the Ajax era. I don't want to detract from any football culture. Football has hundreds of forms and needs to perceive this diversity. We also appreciate our philosophy overseas, but there are no fixed rules for football. Only ideas, principles and coach insights. Football is art and needs to be inclusive. Maybe we are too bound by results... Paris Saint-Germain had to play a playoff last season. Football has no standard answers, but it requires time to settle. Unfortunately, in Inter Milan, time is exactly the most luxurious thing, and we must start sprinting with all our might from tomorrow."

You have felt the hot atmosphere at home in the age of players. But the South Stand may be empty in the early stages, what impact will this have? What do you want to say to the fans?

Ziwo: "I hope the players will not be affected by this matter and look forward to the situation being resolved as soon as possible. The team needs support, and I hope to welcome the cheers of all the fans in the court soon."

What factors have caused some transfer goals to change?

Ziwo: "I pursue quality rather than quantity. It is not our fault that we failed to sign some excellent players. The existing new players can effectively improve the overall level of the team."
