June 21: 22-year-old midfielder Wirtz has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool. He reached an agreement on personal terms and successfully passed the medical examination. Wilz will reunite with former Leverkusen teammate Flynnon.

Shortly after signing with the club, Wiltz said in an interview with Liverpool official website: "I am very happy and proud. Finally, I have been done all this, I have been waiting for a long time, and now it's finally settled, I'm really happy. I'm very excited about the new adventure that is coming. This is also an important factor for me to consider. I want to try something new, leave the Bundesliga, join the Premier League. I'll see how I can perform there, and I'll go all out. I've also talked to some players who have played in the Premier League, and they told me that it's very suitable for me, every stadium is good, and you can enjoy every game. I'm looking forward to my debut."

As one of the most outstanding geniuses in world football, Wiltz spent five and a half seasons at Leverkusen after transferring from the Cologne youth team and had a huge success. In May 2020, 17-year-old Wilz made his debut in the Bundesliga and scored his first adult team goal a few weeks later against Bayern Munich. He established himself as a key position in the starting lineup of Leverkusen in the 2020-21 season and became one of the most exciting geniuses in the Bundesliga. In September 2021, Werz played for the German national team for the first time; however, a serious injury in March of the following year left him missing for several months.

Nevertheless, Wilz performed well after his comeback in 2023-24, helping Leverkusen win the league and cup doubles and reach the finals in the UEFA Cup, and remained unbeaten throughout the Bundesliga season. Although Xavi Alonso's side failed to regain its glory last season, Wilz still showed his rich talent, including six nine-goal performances in the Champions League. So far, he has made 31 appearances for the German national team and scored seven goals, including two goals in the European Cup last summer. Wiltz is now a new member of the Slott championship roster and will meet with new teammates at the start of pre-season practice in July.

Speaking of his goals at the club, he added: "I hope to win everything every year! First of all, we have to do our job well, I have to do my job well. Ultimately, we want to succeed. They won the Premier League last season, so my goal is of course to win again and go further in the Champions League. I am very ambitious." Wiltz's official jersey number at Liverpool will be announced later this summer.
