Thames Exclusive: UEFA will temporarily suspend Israeli national team due to inhumane behavior

After the United Nations Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza, a UN advisory panel called on FIFA and UEFA to suspend Israel's eligibility for the game. UEFA will make a decision next week, with the vast majority of executive committee members supporting the suspension of Israel's game eligibility, sources told the Times.

Since David Gill stepped down in April, UEFA has no member of England. Those who support the suspension of Israeli competition qualifications pointed out that Russia has been banned from European competitions since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The Times revealed last month that several European clubs have asked UEFA if there is a way to avoid a match against Israel.
