Team Exclusive: With Wolves unable to find a new coach, Chelsea are forced to analyze their youth training tactics

Hupu reported on November 6 that Kieran Gil, a famous reporter from the Daily Mail, wrote Chelsea Weekly.

Qarabakh have been coached by Gurban Gurbanov since August 2008, so Enzo Maresca and his Chelsea colleagues have plenty of match data to analyze ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with the Azerbaijani side.

But this Saturday’s home game against Wolves in the Premier League is a completely different situation.

With Vitor Pereira's successor yet to be announced, Chelsea analysts have had to study their opponents' U21 and U18 echelons for clues to predict their tactical deployment at Stamford Bridge, including the way they deal with set pieces.

This is because James Collins and Richard Walker, the head coaches of Wolves U21 and U18, are currently coaching the first team temporarily. Chelsea have tacitly agreed that Collins and Walker will continue to coach the first team this weekend.

Chelsea faced the youth team led by Collins in the Premier League 2 play-offs in April. Before the game, Collins said of the Blues: "They are a strong team, with excellent ball control, and can often get behind the opponent's defense to create threats. We will develop corresponding strategies. We think we have hope of winning."

The Wolves formed a 5-4-1 formation, and Chelsea eventually won 4-0. The goalscorers were Samuel Lark Sakhoi, Harrison Murray Campbell, Donnell McNeely and Ryan Kavuma McQueen.

The story behind the referee’s misjudgment

Speaking of the Karabakh game, last week the Austrian news website Laola1 exclusively reported that Sebastian Guisalmer will serve as the referee for the Baku game.

They explained that they learned of Gieshalmer's appointment after a senior figure in the Austrian Football Association's refereeing department sent an email to about 100 people to celebrate that one of their own members had been selected to officiate a Champions League match.

According to reports, the matter should have been kept secret, but it was apparently not kept secret. UEFA has now officially confirmed that Guisemer will officiate tonight's match.

Chelsea senior scout resigns

Chelsea scout Ed Marsh has decided to leave the club after 11 years.

Marsh's position is Northern England Coordinator. His brother Josh joined Chelsea as loan and academy manager last year from Swansea City, where he was previously director of football operations.
