Hupu November 04 According to reports from Sky Sports, the person in charge of Dortmund hopes to extend Brandt’s contract in principle, and negotiations are being planned between the club and the player side.

However, there are conditions for further cooperation. On the one hand, the 29-year-old will have to give up part of his salary. Currently, Brandt is said to earn around seven to eight million euros a year. On the other hand, the new contracts will be more tied to performance. Whether Brandt will accept these conditions remains to be seen.

Recently, "Sports Bild" reported that the Dortmund boss first wants to wait for Brandt's further development in the sports field. The trial period is said to be set until March. If he can use this time to improve himself, a new contract could be beckoning.

At the end of September, Brandt commented on his future in Dortmund. "If there's one thing I'm not thinking about right now, it's my contract. We don't have to talk about it until the winter," the 29-year-old said after the 2-0 win over Mainz.

Coach Niko Kovac explained at the time: "I know exactly what Julian can do. He is an important player for us and the club, and I hope he can stay here for a long time."

Brandt has made 13 appearances this season, scoring four goals and assisting two.
