July 11th local time on Friday local time, Leverkusen officially announced the signing of 18-year-old Cameroon striker Christian Cofane. Previously, media reported that his termination fee was 5 million euros.

Leverkusen officially announced that the club signed Cofanet, the 18-year-old center forward who transferred from the Spanish Second Division team Albacete and signed a contract valid until June 30, 2029.

Leverkusen Sports General Manager Rollfice said: "Kofane is a very impactful and fast striker. He has solid skills and strong confrontational ability. He will diversify our games with his own advantages and have the potential to become an important member of our team in the next few years."

1.89 meters tall Cofane was one of the most surprising discoveries of the Chinese and Western League last season: He did not come to Albacete from his motherland Cameroon until the fall of 2024. He initially played for the club's U19 youth team, but was promoted to the first team after the winter break and scored 8 goals and gave 1 assist in 20 games.

Kofane said: "It is incredible for me to be able to play for a Champions League team after I came to Europe for such a short time. I will do my best to seize this opportunity to play in the Bundesliga. In Leverkusen's history, many young players have achieved remarkable achievements here."
