Multiple media: Paramount wins UK Champions League broadcast rights, four-year contract exceeds £1 billion

The BBC has learned that the copyright fee paid by the company this time will far exceed the 1 billion pounds currently held by TNT.
This broadcast agreement is for four years and will last until 2031. Amazon Prime will continue to hold the rights to broadcast one Champions League match every Tuesday in the UK for the next four years.
Paramount’s successful bid was achieved after the European football governing body UEFA, the European Club Association and commercial copyright partners jointly launched the “UC3 Plan”.
In the past two seasons, Paramount has cooperated with UEFA to produce and broadcast a number of carefully crafted promotional videos for the Champions League draw ceremony.
Sources pointed out that this deal may be good news for the Premier League - it introduces another heavyweight broadcaster into the football rights market and is not expected to lead to a decrease in overall TV broadcast revenue.
There are recent rumors that Paramount is considering acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery Group (WarnerBrosDiscovery), whose business includes TNT.
