May 19th Arsenal legend Paul Merson was interviewed by Sky Sports and talked about the situation of the Premier League five.

Merson admitted that as the Premier League season entered an exciting finale, he was worried about whether Manchester City could make it to the top five, but his partner Jamie Redknapp believes that Chelsea's Champions League qualification crisis is even more serious.

Sky Sports' commentator partner expressed his opinion after Arsenal defeated Newcastle 1-0. Merson said: "Chelsea is temporarily ranked fourth, and if they lose, they may fall to seventh. I think Newcastle is relatively safe because Everton has no desires."

"What I worry about is Manchester City. They have no gains in the last two games, and next against Bournemouth is a dangerous battle. If they cannot score points, their fate will not be controlled by themselves. Now only Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester City still have the initiative."

Redknapp agrees that Manchester City is facing Test, but Chelsea, who is the most dangerous situation in the last round away against Nottingham Forest, is: "Bornemouth is strong, and Manchester City will have a celebration atmosphere after yesterday's defeat. They need to motivate themselves, and two tough battles are not easy to deal with. Fulham wins again today, and they will definitely strive for a higher ranking."

"Chelsea's schedule is the most difficult, and the away game against the Forest is difficult. The ending is confusing. De Bruyne will fight for the best match. I am still optimistic about them, but it will never be easy."

Redknapp also believes that Villa is expected to benefit from the easiest schedule away against Manchester United. Manchester City has one less game, and then played away against Fulham on Tuesday in the final round, Chelsea must beat Forest away, while Newcastle will play Everton at home.

Race Ferdinand, who is also in Sky Sports Studio, believes that Manchester City can regain its momentum: "They can do it. This is Manchester City, and they never lose their chains at critical moments."
