Liverpool begins to compete for 27-year-old Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku

Liverpool has reportedly joined the competition to sign Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku in the summer transfer window. According to Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United are also interested in the French international.

With Stamford Bridge's four-year contract, the 27-year-old wants to transfer to get normal game time. He has been in the roster role at Stamford Bridge since moving to Stamford Bridge from Leipzig in the summer of 2023.

This season, he has played 27 times in the Premier League, starting only 9 games, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists. In a competition with Nikola Jackson and Cole Palmer, Nkunku is unlikely to be a starter in the near future.

Therefore, the Frenchman may be more willing to transfer to a team like Liverpool. However, there is no guarantee that he will become the first choice there. While there is a chance at the forward position, Nkunku will have to face the competition between Cody Gabo and Diogo Yota.

Most importantly, it is believed that the Reds are looking for a new forward before the 2025/26 season. Despite these concerns, Nkunku will win himself the chance to compete with the Merseysider for the Champions League next year.

Liverpool and Chelsea both want to sign Real Madrid star

It is reported that both Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid winger Rodrigo. According to Ben Jacobs, the Brazil international may leave the Bernabeu this summer.

This seems to be because Rodrigo plays on the right because of Ventus Jr. and Mbappe, and his favorite position is on the left wing. Speaking of the winger's future, Jacobs said (via CaughtOffSide):

"Rodrigo is too, it's a new name I heard... There's no progress between Chelsea and Rodrigo." But what I can tell you is that Real Madrid is willing to let Rodrigo go. "

" Chelsea is aware of this market opportunity, but has not really taken action yet. The same applies to Arsenal and Liverpool. ”

Rodrigo has played 50 games for Real Madrid this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 10 times. His current contract at Santiago Bernabeu is until the summer of 2028.
