July 16th Leicester City Football Club announced that it will appoint Marty Sifuentes as the new first-team head coach, effective immediately.

The 43-year-old coach signed a three-year contract with the club. He has coached in Spain, the Netherlands and Scandinavia and has recently served as head coach at Queens Park Rangers. He will bring a modern and progressive football philosophy, as well as extensive experience in multiple European leagues. Sifuentes will join the team along with assistant coach Xavi Kalm. Harvey Kalm is also 43 years old and worked with him while on the Queen's Park Ranger.

Leicester City President Aiyavat Srivadana Praba said: "We are very pleased to welcome Marty to Leicester City. We are impressed by his energy, ambition and clear ideas throughout the recruitment process. We firmly believe that bringing him to the club will help us succeed in the years to come. Marty is perfect for our club, and his personal qualities and coaching abilities are crucial to establishing the team identity that fans can see on the court."

Leicester City coach Marty Sifuentes said: "It is a great honor to be appointed as Leicester City coach. It is a great club with a brilliant history and it is an honor for me to be invited to help write a new chapter. I look forward to getting to know the players and connecting with fans and the city in the coming weeks and months. I can see the enthusiasm that exists here and I am excited to start this journey."

Sifuentes joins Leicester City after the outstanding performance of Queens Park Rangers. He took over the team in October 2023, leading the London team to make even greater progress last season. Prior to that, he had success in both Hamabi in Sweden and Sandfiuer of Norway, leading Hamabi to the Swedish Cup final and qualifying for European competition, while Sandfiuer was praised for revamping the team's style and performance.

His coaching experience also includes experience in Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom, which has accumulated a rich background in tactics and coaching, further enhancing his reputation in football. Sifuentes will immediately go to work to prepare for the season opener of home against Sheffield Wednesday on August 10.
