Lamens: It felt wonderful to play against Manchester United youth teams in Antwerp

September 4th news Ramens recalled his experience of confronting Manchester United youth team. While playing for Club Bruges, he had a match with Manchester United. In February 2020, the youth teams of the two clubs played a friendly match, and Manchester United won 2-0, with the goalkeepers being Zhong Tasi and James Garner.

"Wow, I remember this game," Ramens said in an exclusive interview with Carrington. "That should be a second team or a U18 game, we played a friendly game at home. It was a big day and the first team played. Unfortunately, I didn't play first team, but it was really great to be able to play against these young players. Seeing some of the people here, like Zhongtasi, I played with him. You can see some of the great talents of the time. It felt wonderful to be able to play with such a team that you have been paying attention to since childhood. I almost forgot about this, but this photo reminded me of that time."

Ramens left Bruges to join Real Antwerp in 2023. The 23-year-old goalkeeper proved himself to be one of Europe's best young goalkeepers after the transfer.

"To be honest, everything is fine in Bruges, I'm very happy there, and I've made great progress since the start of youth training. But as a goalkeeper, sometimes you'll meet a big-name player in front of you, you have to be realistic and maybe take another path."

"You also need to be patient because I didn't have a chance to play in the first year of Antwerp, but in the long run, I think it's a good choice. Looking back, it's also a good choice because I got a lot of opportunities in Antwerp and learned a lot, which brought me to where I am today."

"I'm so happy to make this decision, but at the same time, looking back, I don't have any bad reviews of Bruges. Every place I've been to is positive."
