October 12th Recently, Naples midfielders McTominay and Gilmour accepted interviews with the "Post". They said that De Bruyne's joining the team did not have an impact on the tactical arrangements.

After De Bruyne joined Naples this summer, he had a negative impact on McTominay's performance. Last season, McTominay performed well in Italy's top flight, scoring 12 goals and being named the best player. However, with the arrival of De Bruyne, the team switched to a 4-1-4-1 formation, resulting in a change in McTominay's position, which also attracted some criticism.

Despite this, Naples still leads the Serie A standings. McTominay will at least get a chance to play, while Gilmore faces a greater challenge. Gilmore got a starting chance late last season due to Lobotka's injury and helped the team win the championship.

However this season, he has only started once in eight games, scoring his first goal for the club against Pisa. Otherwise, he mostly came off the bench. Lobotka is back healthy, making Gilmore's situation even more difficult.

However, Gilmore does not think that the addition of De Bruyne has destroyed the balance of the team. He believes both he and McTominay can learn a lot from the world-class star and ultimately be able to coexist with him. Gilmore said: "When a big-name player like De Bruyne joins, everyone knows his strength, which is a good thing for the team."

Regarding McTominay's status, Gilmore firmly believes that he still has the outstanding performance of last season. He said: "Of course, he was the best player last season and scored many key goals. The fans love him very much, and I believe he will turn the situation around."

Gilmore's status in the national team has also been affected. In the game against Greece in the middle of last week, he failed to start, but after coming on as a substitute in the second half, he helped the team achieve a reversal. Scotland head coach Steve Clark said he understood Gilmour's frustration but knew he would give his best on the pitch.

Gilmore admitted that he felt disappointed not to start, but he was determined to prove himself through performance. He said: "Sitting on the bench never feels good, but you have to be ready to come on and make a difference at any time. I need to show the strength that I should start."

Scotland currently leads the group and is expected to advance to the World Cup. Gilmour said it had been his childhood dream to play in the World Cup, but beating Denmark next month would bring them closer to that goal. He said: "We saw Belarus lose 0-6 to Denmark, but we cannot underestimate our opponents. We need to go all out and strive for three points."
