De Ligt: Everton scored with just one shot on target? This is the Premier League, not for the weak

Hupu, November 25th: Manchester United central defender De Ligt was interviewed by Manchester United MUTV after the 0-1 loss to Everton.

How do you feel?

I think the answer is obvious, not very good. I think today was a bad night for us, especially against an opponent with 10 men. We played very badly. We conceded a goal and didn't create many chances.

Overall, I think today's performance was very bad.

You only allowed your opponent to have one shot on target, and Everton took advantage of this opportunity to score. Does this frustrate you?

It's frustrating, but that's football. The Premier League is not for the weak. A chance can turn into a goal.

If they had scored on one chance and we hadn't, the result today would have been completely different.

Similarly, we created 21 shooting opportunities, six or seven of which were on target, forcing our teammate, the top goalkeeper, to make several wonderful saves. On another day, the outcome of the game could have been completely different, right?

It could have been, but like I said, this is football. The key to victory or defeat is efficiency. Today we lack efficiency.

I think today we lacked the sense of urgency to score goals and the ability to create opportunities. Against a team like Everton that defends well and is strong in the air, the game will be very difficult. That basically sums up tonight's game.

What is Manchester United’s preparation plan for next week?

Currently, I'm quite disappointed with today's performance. The next game is crucial. We have to bounce back from this defeat.

We played well in the past few weeks, but now we play terrible, I think everyone will say that. Now all we need to do is regroup, come together as a team and figure out where we need to improve because obviously today's performance was nowhere near good enough.
