David Luis: No one has ever thought Chelsea could reach the final in 12 years; I was dragging my injured leg and kicking

Hupu September 17th This summer, Paphos unexpectedly signed the famous Brazilian central defender David Luis. Luis is 38 years old and previously played for Fortaleza, Brazil, after leaving Arsenal to join Flamenco in 2021.

His agent team said the case was in a state of "judicial confidentiality" and that his recent video would be his only public statement on the matter.

The defender won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, and Chelsea will face Paphos in the seventh group stage in January next year.

"I will be playing against Chelsea with passion," he said. "It's also to thank everyone. It's also to do my best on the court, because everyone wants to see this."

"Of course it's special, because no one thought that Chelsea could reach the final, let alone win. That year, I remember that everyone thought that the Champions League final would be Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Then in the semi-finals, we beat Barcelona and Bayern beat Real Madrid.

I still remember that final, I couldn't play because of a hamstring injury, and not many people knew about it.

I played and played for 120 minutes, dragged my leg and kicked a penalty, and the hamstring still had a big scar.

So, this is a scar I will never forget."
