Hupu August 29th, BBCSport chief reporter Sami Mokbel's latest report, Crystal Palace is trying to sign two centre-backs before the transfer window is closed, which may open the door for Mark Gerch to transfer to Liverpool.

Liverpool negotiated on Gerch's £35m transfer negotiations, but Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner said the centre-back "must" stay at the club after Monday's deadline.

Although Glasner publicly expressed his desire to stay Gesch, Crystal Palace was reluctant to let the 25-year-old move freely after his contract expired next summer. Last year, they rejected a deal to sell Gerch to Newcastle United for £65 million.

Crystal Palace is interested in Toulouse's 19-year-old Jady Canwater, and the transfer negotiations about the highly acclaimed centre-back are in the late stages.

They are still chasing an experienced central defender and have been in contact with Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, but the Swiss international is said to be reserved for the transfer.

Portuguese sports defender Ottoman Diormand has been the top target for Crystal Palace, but so far they have been unable to afford the transfer fee for the Ivory Coast international.

It is reported that the Crystal Palace is also interested in Evan Endica in Rome.
