133 years of history ends! Famous European teams are kicked out of the professional league

Recently, an earth-shaking event occurred in Dutch football - Witts Club was expelled from the Dutch Professional League. Four years ago, they were still fighting with Rome and Tottenham in the European Cup, but now they are facing a dissipation, which is a pity.

Witers was founded in 1892 and has a history of 133 years. It is the second oldest club in the Netherlands. It is worth mentioning that Chinese players Yu Hai and Zhang Yuning have also played here.

Since 2010, Witts' ownership has been held by Joeldanya, Chigilinski and Oyve. It is rumored that they are all Abu's business partners, and the licensing issue has always been controversial.

Chelsea also loaned players to Wittes many times during this period, and Wittes was once dubbed "Chelsea B Team". Previously, the Dutch Football Association had conducted two investigations on this, but no substantial evidence was found.

In 2022, after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Oyff decided to sell Wits. A US private equity fund called Common Group proposed an acquisition, but the deal stagnated during the Dutch Football Association's investigation into its source of funds and the club's historical relationship with Abu.

The Dutch Football Association finally rejected the acquisition plan, putting Witts in financial trouble as the club had received large loans from the Common Group in the event of an expected sale.

In 2023, the British Bureau of Investigation and News and the Guardian jointly exposed the secret financial ties between Wittes and former Chelsea boss Abramovich. Abu has provided Viters with at least 117 million euros loans to Viters for many years through a network of offshore shell companies established in the British Virgin Islands, Liechtenstein and Belize. After the inside story was exposed, the Dutch Football Association immediately launched a third investigation into the relationship between Witts and Abu, which also triggered the intervention of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The Dutch Football Association's investigation last year concluded that there were signs that Abramovich had or was exerting control on Wittes and that there was a risk of sanctions and money laundering. During this period, the Dutch Football Association temporarily revoked Witts' license and deducted a record 18 points, resulting in their first relegation to the secondary league in nearly 35 years.

Not long after, the second round of investigations between the British Bureau of Investigation and the Guardian further revealed that Oyve's company controlling Waiters came from companies owned by Abu, which further confirmed the relationship between the two.

Since then, Witts has negotiated with multiple parties about the acquisition, but all potential investors have failed to pass the review of the Dutch Football Association, which also accused Witts of "avoiding and undermining the access system."

In the end, the Dutch Football Association announced the revocation of Witts' professional league license, mainly due to incomplete key documents such as "lack of bank accounts, lack of audit accountants and failure to provide a balanced budget". Witts' subsequent appeal was also rejected by the court and now he has no power to turn things around. The judge said in his judgment: "In the past season, the Dutch Football Association has imposed nine sanctions on Witts. The violations and their duration are very serious. The Dutch Football Association reasonably determined that there is no other suitable sanctions besides the toughest punishment - the revocation of the license."

Witts is now plagued by millions of euros in debt and is almost unable to raise funds, and is very likely to go bankrupt. According to several Dutch media reports, most players are seeking to terminate their contracts after Wittes lost his professional license.

And for Waiters fans, this is definitely an unbearable disaster.
