According to Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr's announcement, Moses Moody missed the game halfway through the preseason due to a calf strain. At the time, the team expressed no concern. Still optimistic about Moody's timetable for return, but not actively participating in training, he expects his recovery to take longer than initially expected. (As soon as October 29th, depending on daily training and the team doctor’s injury evaluation)

“We will re-evaluate in a week or so,” Cole said in an interview before the second game against the Los Angeles Lakers. “We are not too worried about (Moses’ injury), just be careful.”

Moody started each of the Warriors’ first two preseason games as a starter, but after the injury, he missed training and the remaining three games. He now has an updated prognosis for the regular season.

Last season, Moody averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 43% from the field and 37% from three-point range.

Team officials pointed out that his MRI examination was for precautionary reasons because Moody has encountered calf problems in the past, which dates back to the 2023-24 season. But that season, after his comeback, he still performed well, which depended on Moody's athletic ability.

Moody said in an interview with the San Francisco Standard: "I think that's a lot of the reason why I've been able to stay on the court. So, if that's what keeps me on the court, then I have to continue to do that. All summer long. , I have improved in different aspects. I can better understand what kind of person this team needs me to be.”
