Team options: 44.89 million~ Fire: Van Vreet and the Rockets may renew a cheaper long-term contract

After getting Adams done, the Rockets will deal with the contract issue of main point guard Van Vreet. Van Vreet's salary in the 2025-26 season is US$44.89 million, which is the team's option.
According to Danielle Lerner, a Rockets reporter who works for the Houston Chronicle, Van Vreet may sign a cheaper and longer contract with the Rockets (average salary of more than $128.5 million in three years).
Van Vreett is 31 years old. He has played 60 games in the regular season this season, averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game; in the playoffs, Van Vreett made 7 appearances, averaging 18.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1 steal per game.
