On June 9, ESPN reporter Shams Charania reported that sources revealed that the Mavericks, who have the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, have arranged for potential No. 1 pick Cooper Flag to go to the team for a private meeting on June 18.
According to ESPN, the Mavericks currently have no intention of signing other rookies for the No. 1 pick, and have made it publicly and privately that once NBA president Adam Xiao Hua announced they would take the stage to select people at the draft, they would not hesitate to choose Flag.
