May 22nd RB Leipzig only won the seventh place in the just-concluded Bundesliga season. The club not only needs to adjust the lineup this summer, but also the top priority includes finalizing a new coach. While participating in the media session, Leipzig Sports General Manager Schefel said that he had not made a decision on this yet, and he also talked about the scandal-ridden Harvey Simmons.

Regarding the unresolved head coach position, Schefel emphasized that they have their own rhythm: "We strive not to make hasty decisions, but to make the most appropriate decision for us. The club will announce who will take over the position in due course, but no agreement has been reached yet."

After parting ways with his ex-season Roze, Red Bull Football's development director Zolt Löw took over the team temporarily this spring, and the 46-year-old coach made it clear when he took office that he will return to his original position after the season ended.

Schaefer said: "Leipzig is looking for a coach who fully agrees with our location, the club, and what style we want the team to play." According to media reports, Crystal Palace coach Glasner is one of their ideal candidates.

ended the season with the seventh ranking in the league, which was Leipzig's worst record since it advanced to the Bundesliga, and they also missed the qualification for the European competition for the first time. Schefel emphasized: "Leipzig is now entering a change, and a new start. The club now wants to build something new and show a better appearance than this season."

The core of the team organization, Xavi Simmons, has always been transferred rumors, and the players themselves tend to leave the team. But as the current situation is, the midfielder will continue to play a role for Leipzig next season.

Schaefer said: "I believe he has a clear plan for his career path. However, Xavi Simmons has a contract here. So far, no one has contacted us and expressed interest, let alone submitted any offer. In this case, he is in our plan."

Schaefer, who joined Leipzig last summer, will truly face the test of signings in Leipzig this summer. Regarding lineup planning, he emphasized: "We need a healthy balance. The basic profile of the target players is still young, enterprising, and development potential. But the team also needs players who can play a leading role on and off the court, as well as those who agree with the club 100%. "
