Interesting, Barkley hopes to see Westbrook stand up and help Jokic defeat the Thunder

Charles Barkley begged the Nuggets to send Russell Westbrook to help Nikola Jokic because their season is now at stake.

The Denver Nuggets' season was forced to the end by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who reversed the fourth quarter's trail again in Game 5 and won 112-105. The Nuggets completely lost their offensive rhythm after the start of the fourth quarter, and because the rotation of the entire playoffs was short, the large amount of playing time seemed to have caused them all. Nikola Jokic, Christian Braun and Jamal Murray played in the 44th, 43th and 42th minute respectively.

Jokic and Murray played both with high intensity and energy; they controlled the Nuggets' offense, and in Game 5, they scored 72 points of the Nuggets' 105 points. At a certain time, the role players of the Nuggets must stand up. Michael Porter made 2 of 14 shots in the past two games, Russell Westbrook made many three-nos on Tuesday night, while Braun, who usually shot efficiently, made 3 of 12 shots in Game 5.

If Jokic and Murray cannot perform at a high level in Game 6, then everything will lose its meaning. But Charles Barkley said that if the Nuggets want to save the slump this season and overcome the disadvantage of falling behind the 2-3-down Thunder series with the 68-win Thunder, they need this group of dynamic players to appear.

"I'll get Westbrook on the court anytime. Because his energy level is incredible. He may make mistakes, but he will try his best. I don't know if he will be tired," Barkley said in the post-match show of TNT's Nuggets vs. Thunder.

Of course, Westbrook tried his best, especially with limited time as the Nuggets substitute. His fighting spirit, vitality and defensive efficiency are beyond doubt.

But Nuggets head coach David Adelman has done a great job in when to rely on Westbrook and when not to rely on him. In Game 5, Westbrook was in poor form in jump shots; he made 1 of 7 shots, made all three three-pointers, and his shooting percentage was far beyond expectations.

Nuggets' substitutes must wake up. The core of the Nuggets' offense is a duo between Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. But if the team's substitutes cannot shoot at critical moments, then this combination is meaningless. In the final minutes of the game, the Thunder's defense locked in Jokic and Murray, and Denver failed to score a single point - Michael Porter missed a three-pointer that could have tied the score.

Perhaps in Game 6, the team's role players will make it easier for them to shoot as the Nuggets sit at home, which will provide plenty of room for Jokic and Murray to organize the offense and cause greater damage.
