Everyone should still remember Graves Vasquez, the big floor point guard who passed the ball first.

Greivis Vasquez, Greivis Vasquez, 6-foot-6 (198 cm), plays as a point guard (PG). He was born in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela in January 1987. He was produced by the University of Maryland. He was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft and has since entered the NBA.

For less than 7 seasons in the NBA, Grevis Vasquez played for six teams, the Grizzlies (2010-2011), Hornets (replaced with Pelicans) (2011-2013), Kings (2013-2013.12), Raptors (2013.12-2015), Bucks (2015-2016), and Nets (2016-2016.11). He played in 401 games in the regular season, including 157 starts, scoring 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks. He played in a total of 24 games in the playoffs. After failing to win the starting stage, he scored 6.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.1 blocks.

As a tall point guard, Grevis Vasquez has a good overall view, excellent passing vision and awareness, often delivers exquisite assists, has a certain accuracy in three-point shooting, is threatening on the outside, has high defensive enthusiasm, and is active in fighting. However, his athletic ability is relatively average, his confrontation ability is weak, his speed and explosive power do not have an advantage among players in the same position, his offensive stability is insufficient, and sometimes he is not stable enough in offensive choices and finishing efficiency.

Although Vasquez is not a big shot, he also has some outstanding performances in the game. On December 14, 2012, local time in the United States, in the New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 102:113 at home, Graves Vasquez started for 43 minutes, scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block, and the highest single-game 16 assists in his NBA career. On December 26, 2012, in the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Orlando Magic 97:94 away game, Vasquez started for 41 minutes, made 12 of 21 shots (including 1 of 4 three-pointers), and made 2 free throws, scoring the highest single-game 27 points in NBA career, plus 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal. On January 16, 2013, local time, in the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Boston Celtics 90:78 away game, Grevis Vasquez started for 41 minutes, scored 15 points and 4 assists, and captured the highest 11 rebounds in a single game in the NBA career. On February 8, 2013, in the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Atlanta Hawks 111:100 away game, Vasquez started for 36 minutes, scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 1 steal, with 11 rebounds, tying the NBA career single-game rebound record.

In November 2016, Grevis Vasquez was cut by the Nets due to injury, and since then he ended his career as a player. In July 2019, Grevis Vasquez was invited to join the New Orleans Pelicans Summer League coaching staff, officially starting his coaching career and returning to the arena as another identity.
