On August 2, Clippers star Paul George opened his heart in the latest solo podcast and recalled the passionate years of fighting side by side with Russell Westbrook during his time at the Oklahoma City Thunder. George is not stingy to attribute his achievements in the top three in the 2019 MVP selection to Westbrook's unreserved support and unique charm.

"That time was really fun, and I will always be the most staunch supporter of Russ." George recalled emotionally on the show, "When I first came to the Thunder, Westbrook found me immediately and told me clearly: 'Just be yourself, we will adjust our playing style around you.'" This simple but extremely powerful promise instantly relieved all the pressure of George's new arrival.

George particularly emphasized Westbrook's unique attitude towards data: "Data statistics? That may be what he cares the most. He just devotes himself to the game, and the triple-double is almost easy for him." It was Westbrook's pure desire for victory and his selfless style that created perfect space for George to play.

"On the field, I just need to focus on scoring without distractions," George explained. "It seems that there is a natural tacit understanding between us. We understand each other's thoughts with one look, and we can work together." This chemical reaction based on trust and complementarity has become the most distinctive mark of the two's cooperation period.

"In my heart, Russ is definitely a unique existence, and no one can replace it." George used this respectful words to build a profound footnote to this thunder friendship.

The data silently tells the brilliant glory of the two stars: in the two seasons he played for the Thunder, George played 156 regular season games, handing out an all-around report card that averaged 25.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and an amazing 2.1 steals. When Westbrook's selfless storm swept the court, George's sharpness was no longer restricted. Behind the halo of the third-place MVP vote in 2019 is the mutual achievements of the two superstars based on trust. Westbrook used his actions to explain what a leader is - a true strong man never cared about the direction of the spotlight, but only where victory will eventually illuminate.
