According to ESPN reporter Pete Thamel, the Knicks will hire St. Joseph's head coach Billy Lange to work on the team's coaching team.

Lange was about to start his seventh season in college. He has a record of 81 wins and 104 while coaching at St. Joseph, but has won more than 20 games a year over the past two seasons.

In 2024 and 2025, he led the St. Joseph's Eagles to the American College Athletic Association Invitational (NIT), while forward Rahill Fleming became the school's first player to be selected in the NBA draft since 2016.

Before taking over Phil Mattley's head coach in 2019, Lange worked as an assistant coach for 76ers for six years.

In addition, he has coached the U.S. Naval Academy for 7 seasons and worked as an assistant coach at Villanova University twice at Villanova University, and worked in two sections for a total of 5 years.
