Dwight Howard ranks the greatest dunker in his heart to rank in the top 5 in history

According to Gautam Variel, a special contributor to US sports media F/W. Former NBA star Dwight Howard, who recently appeared on the PBD podcast, was asked to give a list of what he considers the top five dunkers of all time. Howard boldly put himself on the list, missing some famous names. “I’ll give myself three points and rank third,” Howard said. "The first place before was Vince Carter... Now, you have to pick Michael Jordan. Then you have Dominic Wilkins and no one put him here, but I have to put him here, Darryl Dawkins." When it comes to first, there is little controversy, because Vince Carter is widely regarded as the greatest dunker ever. Carter only participated in one dunk contest and won the game in his career (in 2000). Host Patrick Better-David seems a little surprised that Howard chose Carter over Michael Jordan. The big man, however, didn’t change his order and mentioned the iconic dunk against Wes at the 2000 Olympics.

Jordan doesn't often need to be content with second place on any roster, but he has to be here. He won two slam dunk contests in 1987 and 1988. Jordan was the first player to defend his title and win multiple games. Howard finished third with himself, and he won the slam dunk contest in 2008. That night, he made his second dunk in Superman costume and cape, which remains one of the most iconic moments in the game's modern history.

Dominic Wilkins is the second player after Jordan to win twice in 1985 and 1990, and he ranks fourth on Howard's roster. Wilkins is known as the "human highlight movie" for good reason. He is an amazing slam dunker, and many think he should be the winner of 1988, not Jordan. The last spot on Howard's roster is Daryl Dawkins, who has never actually been in the slam dunk contest. Dawkins was born for the game, but when the NBA held its first game in 1984, his physical condition was already over the top. He smashed the rebound with a dunk twice, and it's a pity that we never saw him on that stage. While Howard hasn't made any outrageous choices here, there are some surprising omissions.

Julius Irving, who won his first dunk contest in the ABA in 1976, was the biggest dunk. Irving shared his roster of four greatest slam dunkers of all time, including himself, Carter, Jordan and Wilkins. This is hard to refute. Griffin is another noteworthy, with Howard saying he will make the top 10. Griffin won the game after skipping a car for his last dunk in 2011.

Dwight Howard doesn't believe Jordan has a 48-inch vertical jump height

While Howard put Jordan second on his historical dunk roster as a show of respect for Jordan, he made it clear in this episode that he doesn't believe he has a 48-inch vertical height. “If Jordan really had 48 points, it would mean he hit the top of the rebound,” Howard said. "I touched the top of the rebound, I touched the higher position. I dunked on a 12-foot, 7-foot goal. If Jordan had a 48-inch vertical, he should be sitting on the rim. He should be able to turn around and sit on the rim. They said Michael Jordan has the highest vertical level ever," Howard said. “It has to be a Gatorade type like Nike, we’re going to pay to make it look like this… If Michael Jordan had a 48-inch vertical, I think those were Chamberlain’s lies.”

NBA only started recording the player’s biggest vertical jumps in the 2000 draft joint. Therefore, there is no official record that Jordan has a vertical height of 48 inches. But in any case, Howard's list is still worth discussing.
