According to the latest report by Michael Scott, a well-known HoopsHype reporter, the Golden State Warriors have not made any moves in the free agent market this summer, mainly because the contract renewal negotiations between the team and young forward Jonathan Cumingga are at a deadlock. The stalemate of

directly affected the Warriors' other signing plans. The signing of many players including Al Holden Tucker, Gary Payton II and Dantoni Melton must wait until the issue of Kumingga stays and leaves it clear before it can be advanced.

However, in the early morning of July 7, the Warriors finally completed their first signing of the summer: the team reached an agreement with 25-year-old striker Tyvion Kingsey.

Kimsey was born from Marshall University and performed well during his five years at school, and averaged 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Although he lost the NBA draft in 2023, he signed a 10-day short contract and two-way contract with the Utah Jazz last season, and played for two seasons with his Development League team Salt Lake City Starlight, playing in 100 games, averaging 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Although this signing is not a big deal, it shows the Warriors' preparations for the depth of the wing. Especially with the uncertain prospects of Kumingga, the team is actively looking for young players with immediate combat to fill the lineup.

The Warriors' salary structure is still tight. Whether they can retain Kumingga and what price will they renew their contract will become a key step influencing their future operations.
