Ben Simmons decision is reportedly blocking Russell Westbrook s market

According to US sports media F/W reporter Chaitanya Dadwar, Ben Simmons has gone from being unable to play multiple games to one of the most popular point guards in the free agent market this season. Not that he's back to the All-Star level, but his upside seems to be the most promising investment for the team among the remaining free agent guards on the market, especially after Smart's transfer to the Lakers. According to NBA insider Fisher, he was broadcast live with Bleacher Report, and Westbrook is one of several veteran point guards who seem to be waiting for Ben Simmons to decide his future.

It should be clear that the players did not wait in particular, but the team delayed giving them the contract because of their interest in Ben Simmons. Fisher has a noteworthy observation when answering public questions about Westbrook. "I think he's another player blocked by Ben Simmons. You know, the Kings are interested in him. He was once interested in the Knicks, but I do think Simmons is younger and there's more room for improvement in theory. Westbrook is a big guy. I think he's in ball-holding mode, like Brogdon behind Ben Simmons."

Where can Ben Simmons go?

The former All-Star averaged 5.0 points, 5.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds during a short stay with the Clippers last season. Although his offensive ability is far from an All-Star player, his passing vision and organizational IQ are still something the team can still use. "I think Ben Simmons is the most important free agent in management right now. I think he's supporting a player like Brogdon, I mean Melton, we still think he's going to the Warriors, but he's the second-rate ball handler, backup guard, swingman type player, and Sacramento is definitely still the team that Simmons makes the decision in his choice. Now, Ben Simmons's event is at the bottom of the NBA free agent open market. I don't think he's a candidate for the Sixers at all," Fisher clarified, fans flocking to his comment section and saying he's taken home.

"But I do think Sacramento is still looking for an experienced defender. New York is still looking for an experienced defender. Golden State Warriors are still looking for a veteran defender. You know, the Bucks are making a lot of progress in this market. I mean, they brought in Cole Anthony, so who can say what chance they have to play and bring in another ball handler? But I think this one Simmons is a lot of agents and teams waiting for the next evolution of the offseason market. Sacramento, New York, Boston, Phoenix. I will leave Phoenix out, though. I think as of now, after Goodwin’s latest developments to the Suns. “The players like Brogdon and Payton are one of the organization’s point guards who haven’t received a contract, and the team may consider Ben Simmons instead of them. The Kings, Knicks and Celtics appear to be potentially favorable landing points for Ben Simmons. Of the remaining unrestricted free agents in the market, only Westbrook (6.1 assists per game) and Payton (6.9 assists per game) averaged better assists last season than Ben Simmons. It will be interesting to see where Ben Simmons will eventually go and how that will affect veteran players like Westbrook and Brogdon.
