Hupu reported on November 12 that according to TA reports, Premier League giant Arsenal is about to appoint senior Italian scout Maurizio Kelly to a senior position in the recruitment department. The 57-year-old scouting expert currently serves as the director of Napoli's scouting department. He is well-known in Italian football and is regarded as one of the driving forces behind Napoli's success in recent years.

Since joining the Premier League club in March this year, Arsenal sporting director Berta has been committed to expanding the core team. The need for recruitment has become more urgent when Jason Ato, who took over the role on an interim basis following Edu's departure last November, failed to secure a permanent appointment and left in May.

If the appointment proceeds smoothly, Micheli will join the recruitment system of James Ellis, who was just promoted to technical director this summer. Berta worked with coach Simeone during his 12-year tenure at Atletico Madrid, starting in the scouting department and being promoted to sporting director within four years. In his first summer window in charge of the North London team, he led a busy transfer operation and successively signed players such as Suvemendi, Eze, Dzekeresh, Madueke, Mosquera, Norgao, Kepa and Inkapiye.

Micheli is one of Italy's top scouts and has long been regarded as the secret to Napoli's successful rise in recent years. During his early years at Udinese, he was recognized for his achievements in discovering players such as Gian and Muntari. Later, at Brescia, Micheli discovered Hamsik, a player who would become one of the most outstanding midfielders of his generation in Serie A. These successful operations attracted the attention of Naples, who often introduced players from Udinese at that time.

After leaving the team, Hamsik not only became the captain of Naples and a club legend, but also surpassed Maradona to become the top scorer in team history. No matter how the club's sporting director changes, Micheli's collaboration with fellow scout Mantovani has always continued to provide Naples with talent. Napoli's roster that regained the league title after 33 years can be seen everywhere with Mikkeli's mark - after reuniting with coach Luciano Spalletti, whom he worked with at Udinese, he led the introduction of Kim Min-jae, Osimhen, and the even more amazing Georgian forward Kvalac Helia, who was elected league MVP in his first season in Serie A.
