Sasquatch has aroused the interest of California teams! The Warriors and Clippers are potential buyers: US media lists two major trade plans

On November 14, after the Kings suffered a four-game losing streak, their ranking had dropped to 13th in the Western Conference. US media pointed out that if the team's record continues to decline, they may choose to trade some veterans to gain future salary flexibility and further hoard more draft picks. LaVine, DeRozan and Sabonis will be the most obvious candidates for trade.

Among them, the one with the greatest transaction value is undoubtedly Xiaosha. So far this season, Sasha is averaging 15.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, while shooting 49.5% from the field. Previously, Kings reporter Stiles revealed that a California NBA team "along the highway" is paying attention to the feasibility of Sabonis' trade.

"So when you want to trade for Sabonis, there is indeed a team - I heard that a team not far away may be interested," Styles said. "When I say 'not far', I mean the team along the highway, they may consider bringing in Sabonis."

Although Styles did not directly name the team, there is speculation that the California teams Clippers and Warriors, who are currently in poor condition, are potential destinations for Sabonis. "Sports Illustrated" listed potential trade plans for these two teams -

1. Golden State Warriors

The Warriors improved their strength by introducing Butler at the trade deadline last season. If they can acquire Sabonis this season, they are expected to once again make a big move that shocks the league. As Butler said after the team's recent loss to the Thunder, the Warriors really need to inject new energy.

Sabonis's salary this season is as high as 42.3 million U.S. dollars. It is not easy to complete this transaction without giving up core players. Despite this, in order to maximize Curry's competitiveness at the end of his career, the Warriors still need to pay a lot of chips to acquire the star forward. A potential trade could include Kuminga (who can't be traded until Jan. 16), plus other salary-matching players and substantial draft compensation. Sabonis' contract will last until the 2027-28 season, which means that the Warriors will have to bear his salary for the next two seasons after the end of this season, but it may be worth the investment to allow him to join forces with Curry, Butler and Green to hit the championship.

Potential trading plan

The Warriors receive: Sabonis Jr.

The Kings receive: Kuminga, Moody, Hield, 2026 first-round pick, 2 2027 first-round pick swap rights, 2028 first-round pick

2. Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are another team that may be interested in Sabonis. The Clippers' biggest bargaining chip in the deal is John Collins' expiring contract worth $26.6 million, which can largely match Sabonis' salary. The Clippers can also add Bogdan and Beal (the latter of whom is undergoing season-ending surgery) to complete the salary balance. Beal and Bogdan both have just one year left on their contracts, which would give the Kings more leverage to ask the Clippers for additional draft picks.

Considering that Sabonis’ salary next season will be US$45.5 million, and the salary in the 2027-28 season will be as high as US$48.6 million, the Clippers may not be willing to send him more than one first-round pick. But if the Clippers feel they need to immediately reverse their poor start to the season, they have every option to add the star forward to the lineup alongside Harden, Leonard and Zubac.

Potential trade plan

The Clippers receive: Sabonis Jr.

The Kings receive: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Beal, 2 2027 first-round pick (the Thunder have the right to swap), 2029 first-round pick (the top three picks are protected, the 76ers have the right to swap picks 4-30)
